About Lisa Remeny

"Having been born into a creative family, in Miami Beach, at a young age I decided that I would grow up to become an artist. My maternal grandmother introduced me to watercolor very early in my life, while my mother first demonstrated oils with paint by number kits.. . Never did I dream that, someday, I would actually succeed in becoming a painter, making my living exclusively through my art. Okay, maybe I did dream that!

For as long as I can remember, I’ve studied the movements of the clouds in the skies of South Florida, marveling at their forms and colors. To this day, observing nature in this way has deeply informed my creative practice.

After a series of wonderful art instructors had encouraged me throughout my early school years in Miami, I ventured to the West Coast and studied at a private art college in Oakland, California. There, I honed my photography and drawing skills, and explored art and film history, filmmaking, and more. After graduating, I began to travel, heading first to the Tropics, and I returned to painting. Initially, I worked with portable watercolors. Later, I started producing large oil paintings.

I continue to be inspired by the lushness and color of the Tropics and beyond, and today, when I’m not traveling, I reside in subtropical Coconut Grove. I’m very grateful for the sources of inspiration that continue to compel me to create works of art that uplift and excite my viewers.

I am moved to re-create beautiful things; drawn to the light, to look for the magic. My intention is to promote an aura of peace, happiness and well being."

A few of you have told me that you would like to know what makes me tick..well.. Let's just say all I need, is to be deposited on a tropical island with all the art supplies and fruit I need and I am ON!! That should give you some insight into the real me... Cumulus clouds must float nearby for me to really feel alive.

All of the images you see displayed herein are gleaned from my experiences in the various tropical areas of the planet that I have visited thus far...more to come.

and last but not least~ the original Remeny (Richard) himself ^
long gone but never forgotten...

and the history began here with one of my earliest exhibitions of my work:
